A few times a year, Thyro offers a six-week course for people with no experience who want to learn to row. During this course, the Basic Rowing Course, you are taught the basic principles of rowing.

In winter it's too cold and too dark for rowing class. The next course will therefore start on Saturday 25 May

There will be two classes every week, viz. Saturday 10:00-12:00 and Wednesday 19.00-21.00.

As of August 2015, rowing at Thyro is taught both in the single scull and in multiple-seat boats. The maximum number of participants is ten, meaning that there will normally be one instructor for two students.

The course ends with an exam, on 6 July, which entitles you to limited use of the boats in an area near the boathouse.

Meet and Greet

Prior to the start of the course, an introductory evening is organized at the boat house. During this meeting, which takes about two hours, the students can get to know the instructors and get more information about the course and about the club. The next Meet and Greet is planned on Saturday 18 May at 11.00
